Your Role:

As a Preschool Teacher at Lily of the Valley, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students. You will design and implement engaging activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children (2 to 3 years age).
  • Assesses each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Prepare lesson plans for the children on a daily basis.
  • Comfort arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them.
  • Prepare games and outdoor activities that the children can engage in
  • Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
  • Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
  • Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior.
  • Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
  • Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
  • Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
  • Monitor the children’s progress and development.
  • Plan, prepare, & execute daily circle time activities.
  • Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and craft, music, storytelling, and field trips
  • Prepare reports on the children’s development.
  • Read books to the children.
  • Have a friendly and confident demeanor and to work patiently with students, parents, and co-workers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in early childhood education
  • Enthusiasm for working with young children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents

License/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
  • Driver’s License (Preferred)
